Attention British people - NAKED

Film 4 is running a season of British films. British culture generally disgusts me but a number of these films are wonderful, with the usual masterpieces such as Once upon a time in the Midlands, The Full Monty and Trainspotting amongst other featuring it promises to be good. Yet to flag up one of the most powerful films I have ever seen, starring the excellent David Thewlis is Naked - obviously interpret it how you want but it contains working-class influences and certainly implicates the decadent nature of bourgeois society.

Naked is on Film4 at 11.30pm on Friday 7th March. Watch it, anyone who doesn't is a fascist.

Seriously though, I'll have a look at some of these films. Never heard of a couple of them though.

Naked is indeed a fantastic film. The central character is in many ways deeply repellent and misogynyst, yet still manages in a strange way to maintain the audiences sympathy. The deep atomisation, decay, poverty and despair of capitalist society is present throughout, and shown to devastating affect. The Jeremy (or is it Sebastian...?) character is a personification of pure yuppie evil. To be honest, he adds a slightly cartoony element to an otherwise utterly realistic work...........any, when alls said and done its jusy a fantastic watch.

Oh RA! If you haven't seen these films then you deserve to be taken to the bottom of my garden and shot. I thought you'd have learnt your lesson since the last time I shot you.
