No, I'm pretty sure that it's "fasci". I know the Swastika was supposed to resemble a bundle of sticks. I read about this in my history book and in several other books on World War II.

According to what I've heard, the Swastika was originally a Buddhist sign of peace. It was adapted to Christianity by Europeans and put on many chuches in Europe. It was in one of these churches in Austria that a young Adolf Hitler, then a choirboy, saw it. He used to study while he sat outside the church for hours inventing his political mode of thinking. Hence it's adaption into the Nazi Party's symbol...

The swastika is in many cultures and religions from North America, The Baltic, Ancient Greece and India and there are also varients of it.

"Fasces" means bundle of sticks surrounding an axe which according to Mussolini were a symbol of the power of the state in Ancient Rome (They didn't, they meant power to the people.) That's according to my GCSE History Textbook.
