Populism

I see it a lot when looking into politicians, but I still don't understand what it means. Sometimes I see it meaning 'for the people' and then, next thing you know, I see Fascism.
What the hell is Populism??

Relative and meaningless, like every other term of political discourse not explicitly defined.

As far as I know and understand is when politicians make laws, policies, etc, that aren't really solving anything but, that for some reason or another are popular among people.
