After I read about Marx and the Manifesto I went on to study individuals who put his works into action. I would suggest reading up on some Lenin. "State and Revolution" is a great read.

After I read about Marx and the Manifesto
Only reading the Manifesto isn't the greatest choice. Of course, a great choice the book is - but Marx and his works are much, much deeper than the line of the Communist Party he was a member of.

Well, it would be hard to offer a "shotgun approach" and randomly bombard you with links. What have you read, what did you think of it? What would you like to know more about?

"State and revolution" by V.I.Lenin is probably the next step in expanding knowledge.

To the OP, exactly how do you define "educated", which of Marx's works have you read and how many, post a list for us to see where you are. I would stress that you really aught to have a very strong basis in the works of Marx before moving on. This not only includes the basics and selected works but also many of Marx and Engels less read letters and minor works.
If you are however sufficiently educated in the works of Marx AND Engels, I would suggest like most others you move on to read the works of Lenin.

I would say re-read the main ones. Re-Read the Manifesto, Re-Read the Principles Re-Read [the] Capital. After that I would read RevLeft, and read about things you find interesting. I would also make a note to read about dictatorships of the proletariat.
Paris Commune, St. Petersburg Soviet, Shanghai Commune, Oaxaca Commune et al.
