same here, haven't been here in months. I'm sure like last time this will be entertaining. Although reb, I will contend your characterization of me as "conservative,"

Same old shit, rebel. Holding it down for independent thought and sensible economics...you know how we do.

And Agusto, the only reason why you take umbrage with the "conservative" label is because (if I'm not mistaken) you live in America, where that word implies a certain set of specific values that you may or may not share. I imagine you're fairly moderate, by American standards, but that doesn't change the fact that in terms of this environment (and perhaps even in terms of the global sphere) you are a conservative. It's not a perjorative term, don't let the demagoguery of this board's inhabitants convince you otherwise.

Well, I consider myself somewhat "conservative" and I remember agreeing with almost everything you used to post here. I guess I am actually pretty moderate but compared to the majority here, I'm conservative. I don't mind the label but sorry if I offended you.

Raised Fist- it's just a picture of a lady screaming. Sorta what I felt like the last time I was here with all the C.A.V.E. people that were posting. I see lots of new faces now. I'll have to change it back to my own picture when I get home tonight.

What on Earth is CAVE? Capitalist And Very Educated? Conscience, Altruism, Veracity, Economics? Consumer's Assessed Values = Efficiency?

rebel7609

C.A.V.E. = Citizens Against Virtually Everything. :) That's all that was here- CAVE people. The people who hated capitalism, hated America, hated religion... I just got bored with it. I originally came here because I admired Che and wanted to meet others who admired him. You can be capitalist, American and religious and still post here and have intelligent discussions, right? I mean, I KNOW this board is made up of "leftists" and honestly I enjoy reading different political points of view. But it just seemed that it was getting to be so hateful here and I decided that this place just wasn't for me anymore. Especially when everyone ragged on religion. To tell you the truth, I think that a lot of people here at the time NEEDED religion in their lives.....
Capitalist And Very Educated? Now why would I have left that?

El Che

religion is a virus. Personal opinion. No "hatred" though, far from it. I understand full well that human being have grave limitations. I acept it.

Oh, so this is where all the capis hang out?? Interesting...I have to admit, I'm not much of a leftist myself, I despise Communism in all its forms, and I don't hold much truck with Socialism either. I'm more of a nihilist. So I guess that makes me a CAVE too. Still, I think that's fair enough, am I supposed to pretend to like something because there's nothing else?? This is a forum for intelligent discussion, not make-do-with-what-you've-got discussion. Fuck all positive thinking, it hasn't got us anywhere.

Hey El Brujo! How's it going? :)

"Cynicism is the only form in which common souls come close to honesty" Friedrich Nietzsche
So uncommon souls are the only honest ones
pessimism=honesty.
when did you get the frontal labotamy?

El Brujo

Good rebel. Long time no see.

rebel7609
6th March 2002, 00:18
Being a cynic doesn't make you honest. It makes you a lazy complainer who doesn't even THINK of ways to improve his life or the life of another- let alone DO anything to improve it.
"Full frontal lobotomy." Did you think of that all by yourself little child?

E.B.- I know! I never get on AOL anymore so I never get to keep up with anyone.

"Cynicism is the only form in which common souls come close to honesty" Friedrich Nietzsche
Is this not the essence of intellectual snobbery.
An honest three year old child has more worth than a Nietzsche disciple and has more intellectual capacity.

Oh Jesus, "lazy complainer", "full frontal lobotmony", "intellectual snobbery", "less brain capacity than a three year old"...how's about someone comes up with a sensible claim and I will answer it.

Yes pessisism does equal honesty. I happen to believe that everything political (and many other things) is (or will become) corrupted and everything has more bad than good in it. The way I see it (notice how I'm referring to personal opinion), socialism and capitalism are both fucked. Fine, call me a Nietzsche disciple if you want. I'll call you a Guevara disciple and we can all go round in circles.
