THE RENAISSANCE BELONGS TO ANTIFA! JARED TAYLOR COWERS AMID PROTEST AT AMREN CONFERENCE
It is our stated goal to diminish the ability for hatemongers to function, and that has been said over and over again. American Renaissance editor Jared Taylor (http://onepeoplesproject.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=142&Itemid=27) (pictured) gave us exactly what we wanted when he chased the press out of his little conference this year. He has never done that. In fact, after CSPAN stopped covering his conferences, he had to chase them around to get them to cover them. That meant of course that the press decided to talk to all of us on the protest line instead, and it was our position that took center stage. We want to thank Resistance and Solidarity and everyone that came out to the 2008 American Renaissance Conference to ensure that the event was kind of like Vegas; whatever happened at the Crowne Plaza Dulles Hotel, stays at the Crowne Plaza Dulles Hotel. Well, maybe we can help conference speaker Ashley Mote with his dream of putting all people who think like them on a little island somewhere, but everything else can go to hell. Of course the usual trash talk on Stormfront and other places is being posted, and it is expected, but in the end talk is as far as all their crap will go. Taylor's suppression of the media ensured that. We provide the articles and video that has been posted to date. HERNDON, VA--Last month, when American Renaissance editor Jared Taylor wrote about the newsletter's upcoming conference and subsequent plans by those to protest the event, he lauded the "splendid" press coverage that the counter-demonstrators brought. "…thanks to volunteer press agents," he wrote, "the 2008 conference has attracted even more attention than usual."
When the 2008 American Renaissance Conference took place however, suddenly the once-"splendid" press coverage became a threat. Unlike past conferences, when not only was the press welcome so much that portions of it were at one time seen on C-SPAN, this year, the press was extremely limited. Only a few select reporters were allowed to cover the conference, no one was allowed to interview participants inside, and no pictures were to be taken of the conference unless it was of speakers at the podium. Rejecting such limitations, the assembled press chose instead to cover the 40-plus protestors that had gathered outside the Crown Plaza Dulles Airport Hotel to voice their opposition to the conference.
The counter-demonstrators included representatives of Resistance and Solidarity, a new Washington, DC-based anti-fascist group that organized the protest, El Pueblo Unido, a Latino empowerment organization based in Northern Virginia, Grassroots America, World Can't Wait, and the DC, New York City, North Jersey and Pittsburgh chapters of Anti-Racist Action. Meeting at a nearby park, they marched to the hotel where they stayed for four hours. During the march many recognized members of Save Herndon Now on the side of the road taking photographs of them, prompting demonstrators to hurl insults and profanities in response. For many, this was the first evidence that Save Herndon Now, who was best known for opposing Herndon's day labor center until it was shut down, was associated with the more racist elements of the anti-immigration campaign.

At various moments in front of the hotel, antifa broke off from the main protest, prompting the assembled police to follow them wherever they went. The only time things became heated was whenever anyone that was identified as a conference participant stepped outside of the hotel. For the most part the participants kept their distance from antifa, a suggestion Taylor gave them inside saying that they do not want to get themselves entangled with the protestors outside the hotel. Still, Stormfront administrator Jaime Kelso, who posts there as "Charles A. Lindbergh", stepped out to speak to the media who was assembled at the protest line - and soon started complaining about being spat on.
Those who stepped out of the safety of the hotel did so either to take pictures of antifa, or simply to go to lunch during the break in the day. Local lawyer Howard Fezell, who was seen last July protesting outside a day labor center in Derwood, MD with a shirt reading "Viva La Raza Blanca", was one of those who came out to photograph. Keith Carney (http://onepeoplesproject.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=56&Itemid=27) of the Keystone State "Skinheads" came out to observe the protest, but stayed near the hotel, behind the police line and well enough away from the antifa who kept calling out to him. Whenever others came out, the antifa followed them to wherever they went, but the attendees would not venture off private property, and stayed within the police line.

Inside, noted individuals such as Holocaust denier Mark Weber (http://onepeoplesproject.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=category§ionid=2&id=35&Itemid=27), Croatian hatemonger Tomislav Sunic, who was at a meeting at the Sala Thai Restaurant in Arlington, VA earlier in the week, and Canadian fascist Paul Fromm (http://onepeoplesproject.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=82&Itemid=27), who now that he has been removed from his teaching position is promoting a fight against political correctness, stayed away from the fray. There were about 150 who attended the conference, some actually persons of color. Among them was Marcus Epstein, (http://onepeoplesproject.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1174&Itemid=27) the Executive Director of Pat Buchanan's (http://onepeoplesproject.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=52&Itemid=27) organization the American Cause. The night before, neo-Nazi Bill White said he had attended the conference and he complained about their presence on his email list. He chose however, not to be around on Saturday, when the protesters came out.
It is unknown why the press was restricted considering the openness of past conferences, but in 2006 when one attendee, Michael Regan, was interviewed by the Washington Post, it was learned afterwards that he was a prosecutor in Upstate New York, and he was subsequently fired. He was supposed to attend this year as well, according to a guest list seen at the conference.
The conference, which is the eighth for American Renaissance, was to continue into Sunday. After the conference, antifa have called for stepped up actions against those that participated in this event. On March 19, Jared Taylor is supposed to appear at Michigan State University as an invited speaker of the Young Americans for Freedom. Protests are being planned for that as well.
