I've heard Clinton being criticised by the left and the right.

What do you capitalists think of him? From where I was I thought he was alright, I mean he made a speach saying something like "there isn't anything wrong with America that cannot be treated by what is right with America" (At least he admitted there were things wrong with America.) And at least with Clinton in power you didn't get the impression WW3 was about to start until the Interfada started.

Hillary Clinton thinks she is Winston Churchill. Her speeches after 9/11 seemed like she was taking control of the country. Bill Clinton slashed military budgets every year he was in office and then expected US forces to be deployed as peace keepers all around the world. Luckly George Bush II has increased spending levels to higher then the cold war era in 1980 to get things straightened out. Another tactic of Bush better the Clinton is his bipartisanship. He always acknowledges the democrats and contrary to Republican beliefs has actually expanded the government quite a bit. The new Homeland Defense Office has a budget of over 20 billion dollars. Something good about Clinton was his peace work in the Israel/Palestine conflict. Which now seems to errupting into a full war.

As for Hillary Clinton, one of the first things she did as a Senator was to vote for the bankruptcy bill, making it harder for individuals (but not businesses) to escape debt through bankruptcy. This is a socialist? Maybe by some far-right Ayn Rand standard, but certainly not any legitimate standard. Reality, not rhetoric, is what matters here, and that's the reality.
