I've noticed that this forum has just gotten stupider and stupider. Before it was created, certain right-wingers would turn every thread into either a Capitalism vs. Communism or Che vs. [Random other person] debate. Now everyone's arguing over exactly what's wrong with peaccenicked or which system will feed more starving children. Not that feeding starving children is not a worthy goal, but the same arguments are being repeated over and over. The smart people who type out long, interesting responses are usually ignored or find rebuttals that are elementary (to say the very least) and the majority of the people who respond don't seem to have very much to say.

So you know what? I don't care a whole lot about what goes on in this forum and I don't pretend to. I've been home sick for the past two days (and I haven't shown any restraint because I'm too sick to care) and if I hadn't been home sick for so long I might not be saying this, but . . .

I hope you all have a nice day. You can respond to this, you can laugh this off and never view this post again, you can do whatever you damn well please. There are plenty of capitalism vs. communism forums elsewhere on the web and I'm sure that anyone with access to yahoo.com can find them. I hope you all feed starving children with whatever means you choose.

Here in glasgow you meet a better class of pro capitalist.
They can accept quite easily that socialism and communism are different notions to Stalinism, and its off shots. People can easily accept that it is question of
who owns the economy and that democracy can function in any system. it merely chooses who owns what. The capitalist here can not visualise a form of the economy owned by the majority and run by the majority.

Perhaps that's because despite it's wonderful economy, America has one of the worst school systems in the industrialized (I think that's the politically correct term) world. They won't when I'm through with them, though! Lindsay Neil, Superteacher, da-da-da-da--sorry.

Anyway, the problem with this board is that whenever a communist posts about theory, a capitalist shoots back at them with what really happens when "communist" governments are installed. And when a capitalist posts about theory, a communist shoots back at them with some statistic about globalization or something like that. In those little sub-titles for the topics, people should write "theory" or "current events" and that way people will be less likely to argue about Marx and the Enron Jet in the same topic, which is a good idea if you ask me.

You know what I see in this thread? I see civility. I see lots of leftists making jokes. I see people who (sort of) speak different languages, and I see them coming together. I see one of the few Maxwell fans who's willing to admit that he's on one too many soundtracks, one of the most resourceful members of the board and a veteran member.
