There were several situations in Che Guevaras' life wich influenced him deeply in his views and actions! I think one of the most deciding ones, also if he was still very young, was when he met with an old, handicaped man, The other kids wich were with him just turned away with disgust, it was only him with the intention to help and to show respect, but his attempt was justiced as rude & inacceptable by the cripple and he even spit at Che.

When he told his mum about what happend, Celina answered with the words.
"Yes, charity is not enough in this world!"*

Maybe this simple sentence still discirbes the situation in our world... a lot of ppl see the social injustices, but to change them we all'd have to set actions... and a lot are afraid to do so, & i'm also not excepting myself.

If you want a change, you have to live this change!

Thanks for that wonderful snippet Thomas. I completely agree, sometimes charity is not enough and certainly a lot of comfortable people do not contribute to charity. I don't mean slipping it in the collection box at church either.

On Tuesday the Pres asked americans to give 4000 hours of their time over the rest of their lives to helping their neighbors. Quite a Che-like position if you think about it.
