To me it seems we don't talk much about Vietnam during the war and how it fared after, so I'd like to learn more about it. What kind of ideology did Ho Chi Minh adhere to? While I believe that obviously supporting North Vietnam over the south would make sense, was it a true revolutionary movement? Have any major ideas been formed from it? Can we take anything from the war that could help in a war against capitalist nations? How is Vietnam now, and how has it gotten that way? All in all, is/was Vietnam an example to follow, by any means, to study, to respect? Same goes for Korea during and following (though I assume shortly) after the war there.

Obviously that guerilla warfare is something the United States wasn't and isn't ready for.

Maoist theories of protracted gurilla warfare as a means to a revolutionary take over were shown effectvie in Vietnam, (and China obviously)
