Japanese Neo-fascists are generally less discussed in the west, just because how history books are more oriented toward European Fascism. However we should not take it lightly, and in fact ultra-nationalists are far more mainstream and hold far more influence in Japan, than they are anywhere near reaching in any European nation. Denial of the Asian Holocaust is much more acceptable in even the highest levels of Japanese war crimes.

Of course theres not all that much we in the west can do to combat Japanese Fascism, we can't exactly battle them on the streets. Still Japan is a major First World nation, and one of the great power, so we should not ignore Fascist elements in such an important nation nor forget their monumental crimes.

Any sources for this? Anyone look into Japan to see if there is an ARA-type organization?

Anyway, that party's website isn't working. So that must be a victory for anti-fascism in Japan. :)
I think this Wiki article gives us the general idea.

It is most likely that it is down since Japan state are very liberal or stand in the left since I THINK Japanese people realized about the bullshit of honor, and their troubled history where peasant are usually killed if they protested.

^ Watch this.
Doesn't that scare the shit out of you? They've got a bloody podium set up, for Chrissakes! The scary thing is, according to the comments, stuff like this is common. The fascists apparently have a lot of money and power, and people usually don't oppose them openly. In the last video, you can see that the fash has almost a whole army of these guys in scary black jumpsuits!

Of course, it's not like this hasn't happened before, but I'm so used to racists/nationlists being disorganized or solitary, survivalist types that seeing them in marching columns like way back in the 40s is a shock.

Actually, the Japanese have been electing the same right-wing government (jiyu-minshuto) for something like 50 years straight now. Many in the government are openly racist and xenophobic, which has led to a perverse kind of situation.

Are you talking about the Jiyu-Minshuto/LDP? If so, then I'd say both although I'm no expert on Japanese politics.

Anyway from what I can gather, their positions on many issues has always been a bit cloudy due to a lack of transparency. But many of their members sometimes come off as bigots.

Just as an example, the new PM, Fukuda, once defended rapists by talking about how women were dressing provocatively .

Recently, though, they have lost a bit of influence when they lost the minor house to their center-left opponents.

In any case, if you look them up on google or whatever, you can find many stories of scandals involving collaboration with organized crime and such. There was recently a story about one of the former PM Koizumi's aides having to resign because his links with the yakuza became public.

It depends what you call left wing... the social democrats recently won a small majority in the sangi'in house (upper house), but they're still far behind in the sugi'in (lower house). But then againt "social democrats" aren't really leftists.

As far as the economic context there, check this out:
