Today 60,000 people demonstrated in Jerusalem against the govemrent's economical program. This brings to a peak the line of demonstrations and strikes of the last months.
The 1st demonstration was the unions demonstration. 40,000 people took place in it in front of the Knesset. It's main issue was the pension reform and the other cuts.
The 2nd demonstration was set by the orthodox orgnizations. It was against the program in general and the cut on yeshivas in particular. 20,000 people took place in it.
In Eilat took place a 1,000 people demonstration against the program and especially how it cancels Eilat's tourists discounts.
This demonstrations along with the achievements of the general strikes (which were not big enough because of the union's social-democratic leadership) proves that Israel inside the borders of '67 has a big proletarian power, and that the class diffrences starts to show their signs. If there will be a revolutionary party to lead the struggle (not reformist or social-democrat like the ICP or Am Ehad) we could easily achieve a revolution.
P.S.
To the guys from the big countries: the numbers of demonstrators may not sound big to you, but in our small Israel it's huge.
