well, my teacher was ranting about how reagan was such a wonderful president, and the "teflon president" at that because no scandal ever stuck to him. and she seemed very proud that he used to be a hollywood actor.

so i nominated sean penn for the presidency and refused to withdraw my statement. i was almost "excused" from the room. hahahaha.

Yo, Reagan was a wonderful president my @ss. Check out some conspiracy theories in his time. He was just good at covering up the mess he created. A scandal is when the wrongdoing is discovered. Just cos there was no scandal doesn't mean there was no wrongdoing. ;)

Ask your teacher about the Iran-Contra episode. After he/she drolls on about stopping communism and such, ask he/she if they even understands that it was a popular uprising, supported by the poor. All Raygun ever did was make the military industrial complex wealthy.

Reagan in the 50's also took money secretly from the CIA to report on fellow actors that were suspected of being communist sympathisers.

He couldn't die a horrible enough death.

Also ask your teacher if they are one of the hypocrites screaming about actors coming out and protesting the Iraq war. Apparently, an actor speaking out against the war is wrong, but one being a warmonger is okay.

ok, get this, disgustapated. i fucking bring up all the evil things the us does against the poor of every country we discuss. she just avoids the debate when she knows i have her cornered.

she preaches about her favorite presidents, mr imperialism roosevelt, mr detente nixon, and reagan and bush. and then i'll bring up some topic about irrefutable damage they've done. she says "oh, don't let me get started on that. i try not to give my opinions"

like fucking hell she doesn't "try". she succeeds. and people feel they have to play along just to get an "A" in that class. which noone does anyway because we have to memorize practically the whole index of t he book in that class.

today, the issue that she avoided was fundamentalism. we were going back to william jennings bryan and the scopes trial and i said "fundamentalism is fricking idiotic. all the world's problems are caused by fundamentalists."

she knows she'd get fired if she ever admitted she was. the only reason she hasn't been fired already is this. she's young and good-looking. all the guys insult her politics but think she's hot. all the girls are afraid of her because she's just "so smart". i've had my daddy talk to her about her biases though. scared her a little.

I have had the same type of teacher, only she taught english and WAS a fundmentalist. Once I had a half-hour debate with her on how the world was created, using scientific stuff, and she used the bible as her "evendience". Well, I remined her that it was a public school we attended and she should not be preaching Jesus Christ and other shit like that in school, which shut her up pretty fast.

I had a similar minded Western Civ professor who insisted that Communism as a philosophy is all about taking the money you earned and redistributing as the State sees fit. I told him that that was Stalinism and not true Communism as it was State capitalism ie a State monopoly. He just laughed the comment off and changed the subject. I didnt bother to ask him what American taxes are to him. ;)
