View Full Version : The untold story of May Day, London 2003 - The truth from a
I'am speaking from first hand about what happened in terms of violence at the may day protests. If any of you have read in the papers there was violence. This violence was in no way instigated byt teh protesters even by the hardcore either as they label us. If you want to know I'am the guy that was knocked to the ground in the newspaper reports. I was knocked unconscious by a pig who was whacking people with a truncheon at will. First I will describe the scene. As many of you know the protester were hauled up in Trafalger square dancing to music. When we were moved on by the police we broke through the line down a main street. As we did so officers armed with truncheons jumped out of vehicles and chased at least 30 of us down a alley way. Several of us were hit including me who went to the ground in a pool of blood. A mate of mine got broken ribs but did not go with the police.
This is the stuff that the propanganda ridden papers do not report. I had a 6cm gash to my head and 6 stichs in my head now.
Long live May Day 2003!!!

FUCK THE POLICE!
We had an anti-occupation rally today, we were talking about the May Day protests in London and how every year the only photo ever shown is of a punk with a mohawk of course and chains and so on. This anarchist said it is so stupid, even m Dad said thats all they ever do (he was a punker back in his day).
I'll tell people in the one-time colony of glorious Great Britain.
In solidarity comrade.

Holy shit man, i was the guy who lead that charge down the alley way, the big guy with the balaclarva in the jeans and blue quiksilver hoodie! Man i think u got knocked down right behind me, and i know the pig u are talking bout he almost floored me as well. Just so u know i rounded up the guy at the bottom of the allay and headed back into the action chargeing the police line and breaking though to the other protestors. Ah man lodge a complaint if u got his number i can tell u it really fucks up their careers big time, i lodged 2 on firday against arsehole pigs that hit with with ngihtsticks and punched me in the face. They have to go before a hearing next week, ahahaha motherfuckers!

Definatly try it man it shows your passion for your cause, it gives u a chance to meet ppl from different political groups and its damn good fun as well. I know it sounds short sighted but damn leading the police on a merry march around london was shitloads of fun.

Wow, 2 che-lives people in the midst of it, great! I'd have been there if it wasn't for having signed my life away while I'm getting an education, I can't wait to abolish public (actually private) schools!!
Anyway, that sounds awesome, sniper, I assume you live in London?

The police do this shit all the time, but the media plays it down to keep the masses ignorant.
Next time any one goes to the protests, bring a camera and record any thing the pigs do that they can't leagaly do.
At the baywalk protest I go to, The pigs shut us down before we start, It's amazing how those are supposed to protect amerikkkabn freedoms are the ones who are cutting them down.
it's gets worse, repeatedly many of the protesters have been photographed by the fbi and the cops, and recently I heard that the pictures are filed as 'criminal subversives'
Speaking of which, i had recently heard the amount of video surviellence in London had reached a intensely high level. A friend of mine told me that you can no longer go anywhere in london without being on camera. Is this true?

That wouldn't surprise me, you can't go to washington without being on camera.

sniper, nz revolution, and beano,
how about kidnapping me or something so i can go to your next protest? i feel so.......stagnant here.
and protesting just makes one feel so alive
Yeah I saw you Sniper. Couldn't miss you and your mates. I was the guy with the green army jacket, jelled hair and red scarf across my mouth. Godd to know there is someone to talk to about it who was there. Unfortunatly i didn't get his number. It sounds bad but I've had worse. In the genoa protest I got my jaw broken by the Italian pigs. I was also there when that guy was shot as well. My jaw was broken in two places and hap to be operated on. I also have a 8 inch scar where it was. When i woke up in that pool of blood form London I was fearing I was shot and also thought of that guy. I keep on forgetting his name but I feel mediorcre to him.
I heard that the next G8 summit is in a secluded place away form any major city so protests like Genoa can't happen.

Yeah apprently noones gonna be allowed in evian that doesnt live there so all the protests are gonna be going on in some little village near by and geneva.

Woah, Beano, Hardcore! You're my new role-model!
I'm nothing compared to the Che though. He actually died for what he believed in. I'm not dead yet!!

if you're dead you can't protest! Stay alive and make your voice heard!

being dead can say more than some speach or finger poiting like it was in London. I was appauled by the majority of peoples efforts. Most were as silent as hell. Also the turn out was appaualing. I think I won't turn up next year and just cooncentrate on other demso such as the G8 and EU which I'm going to.

Hey, the fact that you think its shitloads of fun to lead cops around in london ain't short minded, not if u ask me... I think it is important to be active and protect your feelings and rights. It is legal to have your own opinion, in most countries.
It's very bad that the medias cant cover the case properly, they should shut up if they aint objective enough. I think they should be videotaped and reported. The videotape should be given to a public magazine or newspaper that want to have a objective sight on the thing.
yeah, but if you dont direct your action in a principledd and planned manner your gonna burn out having acheived fuck all.

Has any one read Fences and windows by Naomi Klein? it talks about the incresed use of force by the police in riots and such. There are stories about police officers diguised as protesters arrestin people and holding thenm for hours without telling them why.
But I guess that you who have whitnessed it firs hand dont need a book to tell you how bad the situation is. But to those of us who havent it gives quite good picture what is happening around the world.

well police is like that .. fascist pigs are all. i can tell you. when we were organizing a peace demonstration with the attac in hungary on 15. 02, they sent us their payed fascist provocateurs who were trying to disturb the demonstration all the time. it was not a big group but they were loud and then started a fight .. fortunately the organizer activists could stop it from spreading, but the police was refusing to do anything. they were just standing silently at their cars. bastards. (if i think it over again, it's still good that they haven't beat up us, the organizers -- but it was a peace demo after all) and next day you could read in the newspapers that there was a fight again .. one can see well how much they're objective :-/
