In the way that there is a George Orwell one?
Too bad you can't do polls in this forum.
Speaking of leftist filmmakers, why no Eisenstein sticky either?
Who's the better socialist filmmaker: Ken or Sergei? There's only one way to find out...FIIIIIIGHT! Come on Ken!!

I haven't yet managed to watch an Eisenstein film from start to end (although, needless to say, by default, i acknowledge his greatness and splendid genius).
Ken's stuff, which i like a lot, i've watched over and over, in some cases more than a few times, and in one case almost in the double figures.
I'm not sure if either directors need a sticky though.

It wouldn't do any harm, and people could discuss them in the way that they do on the Orwell sticky.
(ok I didn't intend 1/2 saying they're amazing and the other saying they're appalling, neither side giving any valid point)
But Kes is a fucken marv film. If you don't cry at the end then you're the kind of misanthrope to make Reagan blush

The only reason we have an Orwell sticky is because if we didn't, a new, annoying thread on him would come up every few months and rehash the same old stuff.
No other leftist author or filmmaker presents that problem, and I feel that any new stickies would just clutter up the place and be inactive anyway.
Edit: If you look at the "similar threads" bit at the bottom of the page, there have only been two Ken Loach threads in this forum in two years, and they only had ten posts between hem.
