LOL!!! Bill Gates made the computer? The first home computer was made by Apple. THEN Gates came along and stole Apple's OS and made DOS and Windows. Gates didn't even help make the OS, uh(NOOOOO, I AM BRAINWASHED, I can't even remember who created Windows... ah!, Microsoft brainwashing!!!) whats-his-name made it(was it bosniack, wasniak, or was that the guy that actually made the apple too...)

Arguabley, the Altar was the first home PC.

Bill Gates took the Altar (whoch came as a kit that you put together yourself) and rewrote BASIC (a very simple language that someone else wrote) in order to work with the Altar. It was somewhat successful, and some fans of Gates say that this was the first real PC, even though there was other options available at the time.

Gates was the first person in the Computer geek fraction to stand up for copyrights (the crowd was by nature "free beer"), and demanded people stop copying his software.

Later, IBM gave a contract to Microsoft to code a small & simple OS to be put on it's PCs. Bill purchased DOS from a small software company in Texas, recoded it to work on IBM PCs, added a few extra features, & renamed it MS-DOS.

Gates refused to give them any rights to the source code though, and afterwards made millions from the OS since IBM PCs had to be licensed to use the OS.

Macintosh made the best PCs in those days though, & they had the kick ass GUI that Microsoft & IBM didn't provide.

Micrsoft developed software to run on the Apple and during that time had access to source code from the OS. He later used that knowledge to make Microsofts version and called it Windows....

And there is much more in the backstabbing history of Gates & the MS corp, but this portion of the story ends here.
