BOOKS NOT BOMBS CONFERENCE 12 - 5pm Trades Hall, Melbourne, Saturday April 19
This conference is for all students and young people who want to get involved in the anti-war movement.
There are three parts to the day.
1. All-in session (plenary) - the impact of students and young people in
anti-war movements: today and yesterday (anti-Vietnam war
movement).
2. Multiple mini-sessions (workshops) - take your pick. These will run
simultaneously and be based on either skills or politics (eg.
writing a media release/setting-up an anti-war group or politics and
religion in the Middle East/US empire building).
3. All-in session - Strategy Session. A chance for us all to discuss and
vote on organising further protest actions.

Yeah for the most part the conference was good, except it broke out into a dispute for a breif period between the various Socialist Groups over East Timor and the blame game was played.
