Is that a good thing, bad thing, or it doesn't matter?

Yeah, that's true. He says that we should think for ourselves and not to be dogmatic. He also is critical against the Leninist paradigm (I can see why).

I liked a lot of what RS2K said.

The most important thing is to think for ourselves.

All of the ideologies which are dominant in the left have very serious problems. The result is the "crisis of theory" -- which has paralyzed the revolutionary movement and made it nearly impossible for even the most dedicated and militant revolutionary activists to visualize, in a realistic way, how things will work when the working class runs everything.

I have done a lot of work to confront the crisis of theory. I invite readers to check out my essay (see my signature below) for how politics, economics and the mass media will work when the working class runs the show. I wrote this essay as part of the anarcho-Leninist debate on the state.

Your feedback is needed. My work may not be perfect--but activists have the internet and we are now in a position to work together to sort out the big questions.

I tell you what i really enjoyed reading some of RS2K's articles and essays on his website.

What was he ideologically?

Anarchist I'd think , his article on socialism is typical of any anarchist view on it . He throws Lenin , Trotsky and Stalin all into the one camp and calls socialism un-progressive .

I'm not saying thats a good or bad thing ,its up to you to make of it what you will , but personally as a Trotskyist i would oppose alot of what he's saying .

He actually specifically disclaimed the label anarchist.

He is a Marxist, but "without the crap" as it were.

He shares a lot in common with anarchist thought, but doesn't consider himself one because of perceived problems with the label.

Anyway, if you agree with redstar2000, that is probably a good thing. (Though not all of what is wrote is great...)

It depends who you ask.

Leninists call him an anarchist.

He called himself a Marxist.

I suppose one could say that labels don't matter insomuch as ideas do...whether you call him an "anarchist" or not is irrelevant to whether he was right or not.

RS2K, just like I, is just someone who is fighting for the stateless classless society where the mean of production are in the hands of workers.

Call it communism or anarchism, whatever. He called himself a communist "without the crap". He's taken on Lenin and Trotsky and he gave it to them hard. He's also criticized anarchism.

The point is THINK FOR YOURSELF, USE LOGIC, and DON'T BE DOGMATIC!!!!!!
I'd like to again stress the DON'T BE DOGMATIC point.

This is the reason I call myself a NON-DOGMATIC COMMUNIST.

He's a communist without socialism , ..... anarchist .It doesn't really matter what you call it .

Communism "without the crap" as you put it is communism without socialism , Their is nothing "dogmatic" about agreeing with socialism and a need for a transitional phase trying to say their is ,is simply being childish .

No idea how you can read Marx and pull something like anarchism out of your hat... I guess some people just read what they want to read...

No idea how you could read (if you ever did) the RS2K papers and think he's an anarchist when he himself has criticized anarchism.

Here's one:

There are a lot of them so I don't see how you can believe that he "read Marx and pulled something like anarchism out of his hat".

When Leninists call RS2k an anarchist, it demonstrates their blatant lack of understanding of historical materialism. While I would argue the label with them, I have a feeling I'd have more success arguing with my wall. As such, I just chuckle.

RS2k was enormously beneficial to my theoretical development, and comrades and I are working on autonomously distributing his works outside the internet.

I am too and unlike many dogmatic people here, I'm not going to get obsessed about the PERSON RS2K........I'm going to spread the real message he and Marx had for everyone.........think for yourselves!!!!

Onward to the classless, stateless society where the means of production are in the hands of workers.

Possibly insecure script, the revleft server recently was used for sending spam, I'm assuming it was the PHP script used by redstar's site which was used for this.

Here is an interesting thread, in which redstar2000's ideas were discussed to some extent and depth (and, in my not exactly impartial opinion, exposed in their reactionary consequences):

I read the RS2K papers before I had read any theory outside of Marx's Manifesto and Kapital.

Amazing influence on me and anyone with a brain.
