I'm MoonCheese from Michigan, the worst place on Earth. All I want to do is permanently renounce US citizenship and never go to the US again. My parents are both diehard capitalists and very patriotic, and they don't understand me.

I really hate everything about America, but I don't know how to leave forever. I hate the music, the car culture, everything. If I try to talk to anyone about it, they just say how horrible socialism and communism are. Especially my dad, who hates me and was in the US military for 36 years. He hates all socialists and communists and wants me to join the US Army, which is something I will never do.

Damn, MoonCheese, I feel you. I also want to permanently renounce US citizenship and leave US forever. However my mother and my stepfather is not interest in politics and they kind of want a revolution, but I'm slowly teaching them about the leftist. I have to agree with you on music, car cultures & American thing. However in my high school, all my friends was surprised that I am anarchist despite my "nice and good guy" attitude so they like "oh really? damn" stuff. But I do understand your situation and it really sucks. But I hope I get to know you well.

It is really so sad to know that you have some problems in your family life.Actually I am not too different than you.In this case,be patient and try to keep out from discussions with your family.
Your father can maximumly tell you to join the army but of course you mustn't.Because in your country it is not obliged but how about my country?
I am from Turkey and here in Turkey you are obliged to serve fascist state's army for 15 months.That is really so absurd and upsetting isn't it?
I have completed that crap 2 months ago.15 months passed simply like I was in the jail.
Your are a young guy and you can take your own decisions.To be American or American citizen is not a shame so don't blame yourself in this case because you know we are as revolutionaries all over the world don't blame anyone according to their nations.It is obvious that what America is intending to.You have to always resist and keep your revolutionary soil alive my mate.
as I said above,you won't be a hero when you discuss with your family you can just your thoughts in front of you mate don't change but try to be calmed down,too.
