This is really pathetic. Edwards isn't even close to being a communist. I like some of his domestic issues but I wouldn't call him a communist at all.

Why do we care what Glenn Beck says? The guy is clearly insane.

Edwards is probably the best out of the mainstream candidates.

The trouble though is that he is a Populist who, like most Populists, says things against the evil boss whilst, at the same time, receiving most of his funds from that same evil boss.

Populism is a contradiction in and of itself.

Does this really warrant a thread?

because, of course, anyone who have witnessed his prime-time show clearly recognizes the man is utterly ridiculous.

Right. I still don't fully trust him with foreign affairs however since he cosponsered IWR and he never apologized for that. Just his vote. He also gave a speech at AIPAC about a year ago now where he was talking about invading Iran. Just google for Edwards at AIPAC and you can find it. Other wise I think he would do very well with his domestic issues and fighting corporations. I also think he will do better out of all of them fighting for workers watching what his parents went through as a kid and I'm sure other adults as well growing up.

Well clearly but he's talking about Edwards and claiming he's a communist which isn't true. Edwards is more of a moderate populaist. If you don't want to talk about it there are other threads. Oh and also there apparently are people who are interested in talking this so keep this "we" to "you."

Well if you don't want to talk about it then don't. I started this thread because it is the typical rightwing claptrap about anyone being on the left at all is a communist. I just get tired of it since there are different types of people on the left. Not everyone who is a leftist is a communist. It's that old "red scare" nonsense. But hey if you don't wanna talk about it then there are plenty of other threads to talk in.

I think that Edwards gets a lot of his ideas from "The Other America", which was written by the democratic socialist Michael Harrington.

Let's look at this as communists: what class does Edwards represent? He is a bourgeois politician from one of the two ruling bourgeois political parties in the United States. He represents the capitalist class, as do all other candidates of both parties. It's our job as communists to constantly point this out and help organize our working class brothers and sisters to find in their own class interests.
