There must be a connection between imperialism and rape.

Well there's certainly a corrlelation between occupation and the rape of subjugated peoples. But, if anything, I would imagine that rates of rape in the home country would probably go down.

Imperialism breeds economic growth, and the one thing that is definitely correlated to rape is poverty. Capitalist imperialism also requires a complex sociopolitical infastructure which means that there's much more room for issues like rape. That's why Britain has less rapes than South Africa.

So, no, rape isn't connected to imperialism, although it is occasionaly connected with nationalism as we've seen time and time again.

Rape is uniqe among violent assaults in that its victim is entirely variable; with political rape, the object is dehumanized due to percieved political inferiority. That's what happened in Nanking, that's what happened in Berlin, and that's what happens when some skin head fuck rapes a "terrorist" he sees carrying her groceries home.

Until we realize that all people, regardless of sex, race, or thoughts, are equally human, we cannot consider ourselves free. It is this realization that is at the heart of the Commnunist proposition.

That was justifiable considering that most German people participated, supported, or at least allowed the Nazis to do what they did. They bear some collective responsibility for their crimes.

I would be interested to hear LSD's thesis on how rape is related to poverty; I see no reason that it is.It may or may not be, but I think rape that we're allowed to talk about (so pretty white girls getting raped by black strangers) is mostly, by definition, done by the poor.
