I've made a few posts here so I thought I'd lay out who the hell I am.

Well, I'm Violent Proletarian, but you already knew that. I am a Marxist-Situationist, but I simply know myself as a "Communist" so as to avoid sectarianism and all that woe. I think labels and divisions in theory will eventually tear the socialist movement apart. I generally regard Marx, Luxemburg, and the Council Communist and Left-Communist movements as my largest influences, and I also have admiration for the Anarchist and Syndicalist wings of the left, though we at times have disagreements.

My family is made up of a bunch of bourgeois or petty-bourgeois twits; I myself, however, refused to attend college and became an Ironworker; I am a member of the Industrial Workers of the World Union and I live on my own and I get by okay. I spend most of my spare cash just hanging at the local pub, renting movies or buying 'em on pay-per-view, and feeding and taking care of my dog. I've got a rather simple life.

I look forward to discussion, debate, learning experiences, and friendships as I post on this board.

It's already a past-time for you? But you just joined.

Welcome anyways, I consider myself some sort of situationist as well.

Update: I grow more an Anarchist, particularly a Libertarian-Syndicalist, day by day. Slowly Marxism fades from my thought, though I know I will always be a rather Marxian thinker. I especially like the Wobbly Shop ideas, that, as a member of IWW I have recently began actively researching.

Welcome! Although there's nothing bad about some of Marx's ideas, like Historical Materialism... (I also have a "soft spot" for Left Communists...:p)
