In my activist work with many different causes, I'm often asked about my personal political ideology. It's difficult because I can't just say "Socialist" or "Anarchist" or name some vanguard group I support. I feel like a lot of people feel this way, but push themselves into one or the other where their beliefs will be compromised to the status quo. Not a flaw on the ideological level per se, but on the level of the individuals of any given political group that clings to a set of definitive rules of what's acceptable to believe and what's simply not. And yes, I know anarchists that do this too!
So I started the blog, You Belong Here (link in my signature below), to give voice to those of us who are ear-deep in the struggle but, for one reason or another, refuse self-affiliation. As I state in the entry The Nomadic Leftist's Manifesto (compiled by myself and a few other nomads), "We have chosen to be nomads because we have not yet found an -ism that fits our ideologies. Or maybe we just havent found one that accepts a few ideological differences within its own ranks."
I love discussion and honest but respectful discourse on the subjects I bring to the table. Please have a look and leave a comment or two... let's stop fighting and start talking!
I'm also starting preliminary work on a zine by the same name (You Belong Here). If you're a radical or revolutionary without a definitive, named ideology to call home and want to write about any of your experiences or thoughts, message me or respond to the blog post "Calling All Nomads!"
