If you live in or near New York State's Capital City Albany... the following is what is going on the evening after the United States drops bombs on Iraq.

The Following Actions will take place in the capital disterict if the US declares war on iraq. Please be ready to attend one or more of these events to demonstrate or resistance to this unjust war.

TROY Rosa Hose Peace Community invites all local residents to gather at the site of their weekly vigil at Riverfront Park near the Uncle Sam Statue. If war is declared before 6:00 am the gathering will take place from 4-6:30 pm the NEXT day. Rosa Hose will also act as an emergancy contact for personal support and information clearinghouse for local peace groups. For info call (518) 272- 1468

SARATOGA Saratoga Peace Allance will hold a peaceful candlelight vigil in front of the Post Office (Broadway & Church) at 7:00pm on the day that a declaration of war is announced. All are encoraged to participate and express our sorrow for our nation's decision to escalate the war in iraq. For info cal (518) 583-8838

ALBANY On the DAY AFTER a declaration of war, meet at NOON near the east steps of the State Capitol (Eagle ST./ Washington Ave.) Several local groups are planning actions after a general gathering. All area residents are encouraged to attend in demonstration of our opposition to a US attack. For info call (518) 372-8720

SCHENECTADY All area residents are invited to join the People of Faith Against War in Iraq for a candlelight vigil on the Tusday FOLLOWING a declaration of war from 5:00-7:00pm in front of the First United Methodist Church at 6:03 State St. Please bring signs and candles. GREATER CAPITAL REGION The following communities offer weekly peace vigils and will provide gathering places in the event of a declaration of war. Please call the contact phone numbers if you will be near one of these communities and would like more information.

War with Iraq will not make us safe. Preparation for this war has already eroded civil liberties by curbing freedom of speech and promoting racial profiling by the INS and other athorities; diverted funding from needed economic and social programs; and shown the United States to be a greater threat to world peace than those the administration has targeted. Please add your voice to the millions of world citizens who say:
