I think most of the leftists here are leftists because they can't make it in the real world, for some reason. So, they become angry and try to rebel, but only end up working at a McDonalds, or if they are the "intellectuals" they may work at Wal-Mart. I don't think it's their fault, it's their parents fault for allowing them to grow up to believe in such nonsense like communism, which by the way has killed millions of people and Stalin was the Russian Hitler. I've decided to do my part and educate you people into successfully integrate into reality.

Your psychoanalytical skill is simply wonderful. A psychiatrist has to interview each individual for numerous hours about a variety of biographical details before being able to determine that one individual's motivations. But you have the ability to read only about what kind of social structure a number of people prefer, people that you have never met, and then you can immediately identify the motivations of all of them. To have such a skill is truly wonderful.

And you have managed to divine the ideology of the majority of our membership's parents/gaurdians how exactly? Reading sheep guts? Tea leaves?

Furthermore, most young people are perfectly capable of forming ideological positions independantly of their parents.

"Communism" has killed nobody since nobody can be killed by an abstract concept. Even if we accept for the sake of argument that Stalin was responsible for the death of millions, it was his conclusions that lead him to do such acts. Other people draw much less fatal conclusions.

The American administration claim they are bringing democracy to Iraq, yet they are doing no such thing. Democracy itself is not invalidated as a concept because people do evil things in it's name. The same applies for communism. Ideologies are not "evil" unless it actually has something like "killing millions of people" as an end. I don't remember Marx or any of the Enlightenment thinkers who contributed to the birth of democracy advocating the deaths of millions.

It's interesting how you are pointing to your own error and you don't realize it. You are sensing that what killed millions of people was something that the regimes of Stalin and Hitler had in common. Well, what did the forms of social administration in these two cases have in common? In each case unlimited power was given to a leader, and there wasn't a popularly elected legislature or independent judiciary that could overrule the leader. There wasn't what Americans call a separation of powers among several branches. Unlike the U.S., they didn't have public election of the top commander of the military. They didn't have freedom of speech, unrestricted debates, and multiple party elections. In other words, the common factors between Stalin and Hitler had to do with the legal and political structures. By introducing the comparison between them you have nearly pointed to the fact that their killing of million of people had nothing at all to do with the fact that one of them adopted the name "communism."

It was partly a joke, partly a call to arms. I don't suport purges, but I do support violence in defense, which is what revolution is.
