Now I know what a Slovenian accent sounds like - a lot like Italian, interestingly. In any case I never found Zizek all that interesting. Most of his books just consist of bullshitting about movies, some random dilettantism about "dialectics" and "materialism", some fawning over Lenin, and nothing much of real interest. He's amusing enough, but his main function is to troll non-left-wing philosophers.

Add in all that Freudian rubbish, and the pseudo-mathematics, and you have it just about right McCaine.

I think Zizek fails systematically - but, while I wouldnt, I think many would agree with his view that there is a legitimate function for philosophy in divining meaning

Zizek is always a hit or miss with me, and this time it was a hit.

Zizek is just another pretentious pseudo-Stalinist with circle theories.
