The Solidarity website reports the following:
Solidarity Statement on Councillor Ruth Black
Solidarity, as a party, is filled with talented individuals and respected campaigners. It is therefore no surprise that the big parties would want to tempt our members with chances to advance their career.
We now have a duty to those voters in Craigton ward who rejected privatisation, racism, dawn raids and illegal wars. We will continue to honour our promise to those voters and the 30,000 people across Scotland who voted for Solidarity to fight along side them on those issues.
Does anyone know what the story is behind this? Has Solidarity's one elected representative jumped ship or merely turned down an offer from elsewhere? There's nothing I can find elsewhere on the web about it...
