I think they used some really poor arguments here, especially considering they had a great oppertunity to propogate socialist ideas. How can we as communists possibly argue for the rule of law, we stand for breaking the law in situations such as wild cat strikes, it seems ridiculous.

This was a very good piece, and the interviewees did extremely well. I like how they argued on premises which are common between Communists and the American people, instead of just repeating the word "bourgeois" over and over again. Their defence of the rule of law and the separation of powers was admirable, and I don't get why anyone ould have a problem with it. That weak-ass statement by the FOX guy at the end just shows how embarrassed he was by the fact that they couldn't catch the Communists out on home turf. I was very impressed that they actually held their own and won the argument (short as it was), I doubt anyone on here could do that.

I think they made great points about the government and that particular situation. And as one of them said how can the government make a law for one person? I'm taking a class now called "social problems" and one thing we talked about today is that a law is made when Congress sees the issue as being a problem for a large part of society. This was just one woman and the government shouldn't have been involved like they were. All in all I think the Communist's did a great job at their argument. The guy however was a jerk and you could tell he had to get his points across. The female host was at least interested in what they had to say and wasn't a jerk like the guy.

Besides the "when we come to power" quote they did a fairly good job. It's always hard to talk to non lefties about alternative politics because they either don't understand you or you just end up sounding like a born again christian.
