Artistically mediocre, obviously commercialized, ecclesiasitical, it's really bizarre the sheer volume of crap this holiday invites.

I like the song "O Come O Come Emmanuel"

Is there such thing as new Christmas music anymore? Or is it just repeating the same ol' melodies that we associate with Christmas music.

All of them are shitty, but the best christmas song is definitely Happy Christmas (War Is Over) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hb2YSAVHmIE)

Anything by cliff richards amkes me jump through the nearest window in Father Jack style.

The Pogues, James Brown and a few Aaron Neville covers are good...

True.

I cant vote for some reason, but I think the worst christmas songs are the overtly religious ones.
Holy Night comes up right now.

Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies? Are you kidding me? Mediocre, commercialize?

How can you call something by Tchaikovsky mediocre? You are crazy! Have you ever been to the ballet and watched the Nutcracker?

I cant vote either...if i could it would be other, milenium prayer by Cliff Richards

You can sort of forgive overtly religious songs during a religious festival...ish

I actually really dig a lot of Xmas music, though not any of the standard carols.
'O Come O Come Emmanuel" has a really neat melody, and I can get into a lot of the old Church music, like the Gregorian Chants and so forth. I also like "O Holy Night" when it's performed by classical singers, sopranos or tenors like Luciano Pavarotti.

As for the actual question, "The Little Drummer Boy" would get my vote.

I like old church music too, probably my favorite part of the roman catholic mass.

Why isn't 'Grandma got run over by a reindeer' on the list?

The song needs to be nuked!

That's why I voted other, BTW.
