We all have been talking about Big Media Houses, wheather it is the BBC, CNN, FOX or other international media centers on this forum... I was so bored watching and listening to the craps untill our cable suppliers offered us Alzazeera TV.... Now I am very happy, I know its not the final destination and nothing to do with our movement, but at least I now am liberated from the "Mainstream Media House"... Last night I got to watch an Interview of Noam Chomsky first time in my life... and when the programme was finished, I tuned to CNN and there I saw Laura Bush reading storybooks to Kindergarden with a bithch on her lap... I couldn't stop laughing all night long...

Ps: I am looking for the book 'It’s the Media, Stupid!' by John Nichols and Robert W. McChesney.
If its found online, then comrades please give me the link...

Might not be something to cheer about for much longer, big corporate media giants have been trying hard to penetrate it and push their viewpoints on al-J. I think a few deals have been sealed, not so sure at the moment.

I often find myself watching Al Jazeera as it isnt as biased as the other mainstream media networks (CNN, Fox and yes even the normally "not to biased" BBC) and presents a more balanced view for the viewer which usually lets them see both sides of the arguement without any clear favouritism.

Oh how awesome! Sounds pretty good. Speaking of AlJazeera there's a great documentary about them called "Control Room" you should try to find. It shows why the Bush administration didn't like them and tried to bomb them etc.

They recently had a pretty good program on the international medias presenatation on the Venezuelan refferendum and the revoltuion in general, included an interview with Hands Off Venezuela editory and marxist.com editor Alan Woods. While it certianly has its own agenda and isn't socialist Al Jazeera is far more fair and balanced than western bourgoirse media.

And this why the US wanted to attack them because they werent like the "beacons of truth" CNN and FOX.

Exactly! "Control Room" definitley shows that. Everyone should watch that if they haven't yet. You can probably find it online. I originally watched it on the Sundance Channel but I don't think it's going to be on there anytime soon.

Im not sure if this is the one you are talking about but it is about Venezuela, more specifically about the community councils.

Well its a connection oriented cable network which gives us 65 channels... but most of them are useless and keeps the youth doped with sex, religion, and Entertainment...

My favourite channels are TV Monde Asie (French channel), Aljajeera TV, VH1 and sports channels to watch Football...

Hey!!! Has anyone got any idea about the books I mentioned above ...
