Thoughts?

It looks like the BNP could split up over this scandal with the majority hardliners going one way (Most likely to the National Front) and the minority "moderates" led by BNP leader Nick Griffin going another way and eventually fading away from the political mainstream.

The good thing about these far right parties is that they never stay united for too long and eventually split into small more extreme groups that will never have the support of even a minority of the public.

And though the left often suffers from secterianism i feel that it can unite with no problem on important issues.

Is that really what you think?

On some maybe, but on others important issues definitely not.

Same sympton, same cause: petty-bourgeois individualism.

It keeps our side small and ineffectual, and, mercifully, it does the same to them.

The left has always been blighted by such splits, there are a half-dozen Italian communist parties and combined they get 30% of the voyes, had they stayed together they might have had more power, (of course now the mainstream communists are taking a reformist stance but the others aren't even close to power) However this news about the BNP fiasco is good for us, all we need to try and do is be more willing to unite on the main issues...

Why would they join the National Front?

the story does look sadly reminiscent of what happens in leftist groups. :(

oh yeah and LOL at this:

The BNP has insisted Graham's home was not bugged, but rather that she had accidentally dialled a number on her mobile phone that led to the conversation being recorded.

RESPECT for example. And other ones, which I've personally been in. Not fun.

Members of RESPECT bugged other members phones and stole computers from their houses?

also there was the thing with one group keeping the keys to the printing press whilst others grabbed the keys to the offices etc. A petty and primitive way to settle disputes, which makes a mockery of the groups name.

Actually, I heard of some news report that someone stole stuff (a chair?) from a high positioned member of RESPECT...
