View Full Version : What am I exactly?

Ok well I'm new here and although I've been a left leaning person almost my entire life I've yet to claim that I follow any specific type of socialism or communism... So could someone please tell em which type my beliefs fall best into?

I believe that
a) Socialism/communism will only work is it is global, as long as there are capitalist countries or states out there, there will be apathy and greed.

b) Everyone is equal, no matter their birth, religion, beliefs, sexuality or sex (or anything really)

c) Once capitalism has been eradicated everyone should work according to their abilities, everyone has a talent, and should work using that talent, those who have worked for a while using said talent are elevated to an adminsterial role and direct that talent where it can best be used (an analogy: like a school with no head teacher, each subject has a teacher and these teachers guide the pupils telling them what to do best to enhance their work) these "teachers" would be equal to the workers but having more experience would have the knowledge to further society

d) Arts are as important as primary and secondary industry

e) Religion can have a place within society as it does not need to have a hierarchy, and it can be beneficial to the individual.

f) Tertiary Industry isn't necessary (shops, stock markets etc.)

g) Human life is sacred and there is never a real excuse to take it

h) Punishment is a bad idea, re-education works better.

OK that's a simplified version of my beliefs could someone give my ideals a name?

Why do you feel the need to pigeonhole yourself?

I wasn't trying to pigeon hole myself i was looking for a group or a practicioner with which to identify so I could search for literature and other individuals to further my learning and knowledge.

A large portion of this board tends to do this, unfortunately.

Bradshaw: What are your views on the state? How would you like to see society organised after a departure from the current system?

I would have several council of elected officials who had proved them, selves to know the most about certain areas who would be in charge of guiding those areas (eg a council of experienced Doctors in charge of healthcare) That way you have people who know what they're talking about helping each area of society improve.

On a side note (Jello's mention of the state reminded me of this),
I would preferably see states dissolved, as having boundaries IMHO increases discrimination and gives racists an area of ignorance to corrupt others and incite hatred.
If there was one state then there would be no need for people not to mix with others of different ethnicity, thus they would see that racism is the product of ignorance.

Communism the a classless and stateless society.

But DON'T be dogmatic. You don't have to call yourself a name.

I have changed the title of this thread, since it reads at present: "What am is exactly".

I hope that is ok, Bradshaw.

ur just urself mate, like some1 said dont pigeonhole urself alot of ppl do it theres no point. identifyas revolutionary or left wing.

I wasn't trying to pigeon hole myself i was looking for a group or a practicioner with which to identify so I could search for literature and other individuals to further my learning and knowledge.

u can do that without calling urself part of a narrow type of communist, read stuff u dont agree with and stuff u do and keep an open mind. just because u agree with what libertarian communists or technocrats or wotver doesnt mean u have to call urself one.

The problem with these titles is that over time the meaning of them has changed so much. Society often fucks it up too. For example, the Nazi party was called "National Socialist German Workers Party". While you believe in some form of Socialism, you in no way, shape, or form support fascism, nazism, or any thing of that sort. So as stated before, if you are lookin to join a group just look at what they believe, compare it to your own, and prioritize. You will never find a group in which everyone in it believes the same as you. but you look at the things that are politically most important to you and try to find a group that shares those.
