Fredy Perlman was a rather influential Marxist during the sixties. Later in his life he drifted from Marxism and became more of a primitivist. Nonetheless, I really enjoy some of his earlier Marxist works. I would consider him one of the best under appreciated contemporary Marxists of our time. I've read The Reproduction of Daily Life and found it a very good Marxist primer with relevance to modern times.
Does anyone have anything (good or bad) to say about the Marxist Fredy Perlman?

The only problem that I have with Pearlman is his shift from Marxian thought to such a backward and reactionary ideal in his later years.

I'd never heard of him but I've just read about him on Wikipedia.
Ironically he wrote a book called The Incoherence of the Intellectual before going on to contribute to the translation of Guy Debord - easily one of the most incoherent intellectuals of his generation
If anyone is interested in reading The Reproduction of Daily Life, they can find it HERE (http://www.marxists.org/reference/archive/perlman-fredy/1969/misc/reproduction-daily-life.htm)
