Stuff like this does indeed make you arrogant.

Let's forget about fighting exploitation and oppression and instead direct our attention to "those who believe in the salvation from sin offered to them through the sacrifice of their savior, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and who, out of gratitude for the gift of salvation, commit themselves to living their lives in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Bible."

It might be wrong, irrational, or illogical, but does that make it oppressive, exploitative, or reactionary?

Personally, I actually see this as more of a rebuke to far-right Christian concerns that the government "hates Christmas" and is "too secular."

I see only one factual flaw in the legislation itself, which are its claims about the contribution of Christianity to Western civilization. Christianity only truly played a role in the expansion of Western civilization, such as colonialism and imperialism; Western civilization itself developed in spite of Christianity, not because of it.

Well we already have the first amendment so I don't get the whole point of this. There are other important things to do like getting the hell out of Iraq.

The problem with that bill is not that it was a recognition of the importance of Christmas, because it wasn't. This bill recognizes Christianity as the foundation to the USA. That is the problem with it.

I love Christmas. For me it is not about the commercialism, consumerism, or Christianity. It is a time to be with family and appreciate each other. But a bill to recognize Christmas as important, wtf? But like I said, this bill was not about Christmas.
