Anyone here a fan of the riotfolk collective? Anarchist folk singers.

Evan Greer and Ryan Harvey are freakin' awesome!

I Don't listen to much of the other Riotfolk artists (sometimes I will listen to Mark and Tom Frampton) but I love the idea of an "anarchist" record label.

I began listening to Brenna Sahatjian, when she played a reproductive rights rally here in Detroit.

I wasn't aware she was in any sort of music collective.

I will definately check some of these other artists out.

I set up a show for Shannon at my school this fall. It was really sweet.

And even though they/he is not part of the collective, Mischief Brew plays similar music and is basically the greatest thing ever.

Mark is an amazingly nice guy. Ryan's sweet. Brenna makes wonderful music. Evan Greer is a self-absorbed scenester who chases the endorsements of 'famous' leftists in order to prove his authenticity.

I may have missed a link to "You Tube" or other in thread descriptive link; is there one?

I heard Ryan Harvey and that was pretty good. Was there a riot-folk scene in the late 80s? It was a lot of feminist and gay-lib oriented acoustic stuff and then it became anti-folk later.
