Hello all: i would like to know if there are conditions for an objective revolutionary situation in USA. Or if there is a pre-revolutionary situation in USA right now? I mean dont u all suspect that the increase in crime-rates, the increase in poverty indexes, and other social problems arising in USA, are hints of a pre revolutionary situation in USA? And i would like to learn more about Lenin's statement on revolutionary objective situations for that to happen. And would a change of paradigm would also be necessary for a revolt-situation to arise. I mean don't u all think that the influence of the Bolivarian Revolution, the Socialist Parties in Europe and all over the world are conditions for socialism to be *in fashion* and capitalism to be *out of fashion*? Don't you suspect that today it is cooler to be socialist than to be materialist and yuppie capitalist like in the 1980s for example, when consumerism was cool, USA was in, USA was cool, and Cuba, and USSR were *out*. I don't think that the times today are the same of the 1980s and 1990s, I think that people are fed up of banks, credit cards and the whole capitalism system already and would like a change

thanx, i would like your comments on Lenin's revolutionary situations

I don't think that we have a revolutionary situation in the US today. If there was to be a revolution, it would be crushed.

I do think we have a pre-pre-revolutionary situation. I could see all the trends your talking about leading to a truly pre-revolutionary situation in twentyish years. If everything goes perfectly, the soonest we could have a revolution is thirty years. But I think it will be longer than that.

It might take till the 2050...but yes things have been going to shit since like the 70s (i.e. falling real wage rate.).

Although I haven't deeply analyze it much, but I feel there might be alot of turmoil in the near future over the new president, Iraq, Iran (are they going o not), etc, etc if (s)he doesn't do the right thing. (i.e. a democrat pulling an "LBJ" sans the Great Society programs or another republican except more feverently theocratic, etc)

The question should be what is to be done in a pre-pre-revolutionary situation (and in a pre-revolutionary one). :P
