I don;t agree witht he PLP because they refer to New China as imperialist.
However I believe that they have the most strict and disciplined Leninist organization in the USA. It is inevitable that within the next 50 years perhaps as little as 15 the Progressive Labor Party will have absolute control of the USA. Thus you need to adjust your strategies to this fait accompli.

I agree with FoB. Do you really think an obscure third party with a fringe ideology has a shot at any sort of political power in 15 years (or even 50)? You'll see a Constitution Party president before a PLP one.

I don't think PLP will be in power.
But I do foresee the formation of a laborite bloc to challenge the Republocrat consensus.

I doubt it.

The PLP would be lucky to win a national seat if they ran for American government.

And even considering they might be "in power" through some sort of revolutionary upheaval is just too far fetched. Even for me, and I'm an idealist.

I think the USA would have imploded by then, either through World War Three or communist revolution. Hell, maybe both!

Leninists will never come to power. Luckily, because Leninists coming to power would be absolutely horrible.

Then why is so much countless money spent on making books that keep flogging this allegedly dead horse?

Although the PLP are pretty anti-Leninist, and a comrade told me that they claim to be underground here in the Twin Cities, as they think that Fascism is coming (with what social basis?! It has eroded away!).

I have no idea. I would hope that any non-mentally insane, non-authoritarian people would automatically be turned off by Leninism.

Well, unfortunately we have both insane and authoritarian people on this board. (Sometimes they are the same...)

As for fascism, Axel1917, care to explain why you think that fascism has eroded away? Do you seriously think that racist authoritarian nationalism doesn't exist (which is what I assume people mean when talking about fascism in most contexts...)?

Labourite block? In the USA? I would suspect that a revolution or break up is more likely... But maybe that is just me...

Finally, the PLP? Never heard of them. And I'm guessing that this thread is a joke, because of the crap about discipline etc.

This goes back to what I was saying in the CC the other day. A lot of people here think there is a fascist threat that is the same as the old fascist threat, i.e. that it comes from the neo-Nazi movement or whatever, that is wrong, it is almost completely gone.

The modern fascist threat, if fascist is the corect word, is coming from the right of the mainstream Conservative movement; Vlaams Belang, Northern League, One Nation etc. A lot of people want to ignore that however in favour of chasing phantomsand acting like old school fascism is still dangerous. This small group we are discussing here seems to be a case in point.

Fascism as an economic theory is tight cooperation between state and Big Business, so from an economic standpoint, the United States has been Fascist pretty much since WWII.

In 50 years hopefully the militant workers movement will have come back in full swing, its making a slight comeback now. Any American putting his hope in any Political party, espeically a leninist one is wasting his hope.

i am also in the Twin Cities and perhaps you are not familiar with the NSM (the National Socialist Movement) their headquarters is located in St. Paul and they happen to be one of the largest American Neo-Nazi parties today ...

by the way ... the bar Station 4 is one of their hang outs and a lot of bands from their record label play there ... just a heads up
