So the CPRF (Communist Party of the Russian Federation) won %11.6 of the votes in the parliamentary election. It was effectively the second largest party after United Russia.
I'm sure some Nazbols and Soviet nostalgists voted for it, but is this of any significance towards the creation of a new revolutionary worker's movement? Considering the size of the party's base.
I haven't followed the party's platform and steps in the right direction would be helpful.

The CPRF is a communist party which seems to be the "heir" of the old bolshevik party.
They basically mix Russian patriotism and communism. They're not very revolutionary either, more like democratic socialist.
Several of their members have been seen participating in anti-gay protests.
I wouldn't support them. They seem to be quite reactionary regarding certain issues, like race and homosexuality. Their nationalism also is very troubling, though in some ways I can understand why they would preach it.

A revolutionary force? They consist of:
a) disgruntled Great Russian chauvinists
b) warped nostalgists who long for the days when Laventi Beria was stalking young women in Moscow
c) unemployed bureaucrats
d) well meaning old crows who remember the " good old days"
e) racist homophobes
I'd guess 95% of their voters is one or more of these things.

In Russia, pro-human rights positions are viewed as right-wing.

The nazbols are completely different from the CPRF. The nazbols have aligned themselves with the liberal opposition of Gary Kasparov.
