A month ago my friend and I were getting a ride downtown with his dad who is a pastor of a local church. we were listening to the news on the radio and us war on terror came up i piped up and said it was all garbage because the US is the biggest terrorist nation. He went ballistic on me and said that again that i could walk downtown if i ever said anything like that again, so i asked to be let off because i rather walk and have my own opinion. he up into a parking to let me out and hit a hydro pole. i think it was cosmic justice. just curious how any of you have suffered for your beliefs.

I've been called a communist (which I'm not!) in a derogatory way by the capi rich brats at my school (see link in signature!) but that's about it. I get a bit of shit when I say the rich aren't taxed enough, people saying "How would you like having you're money taken away for red tape" blah blah blah. I'm only 16 and don't work so I only pay VAT, but when I do I'll pay for my health threament, etc, no problem. I admit the government spending here in the UK is pants, but I can't change it on my own and we'll have to cough up or nothing good will happen.
Why are rich people so tight fisted?!!

I did fund raising for terry fox(cancer research) and the people in the rich area of town gave me the least they always said that "oh my tax dollars should pay for that" "i thought panhandling was illegal" the reason they are tight fisted is because money is the only happiness they have so they gotta hold it as tight as they can
capitalist bastards

It's so depressing, if only they could see the good that they could do in society just by going without something occasionally it would make so much difference. I wish they would just stop being so selfish, it makes me sad

Well, while I was in Seoul noone said anything about my beliefs - kinda wierd, especially in a country with no freedom of speech. When I got here, jesus christ. They're on me like dogs. I've been called so many names: "Fucking USSR mother fucker", "Red Commie", "Mao lover", and such. I've been pushed around for what I wear and believe, always made fun of.

Ya, in South Korea i bet they would treat you pretty bad considering their only view of communism is the stalinists to the north of them.

No, you read what I said wrong - or I wrote it wrong...
My point is the people here push me around all the time, point, make fun of, swear, laugh, etc. In Korea noone cares, at all. They don't care at all, maybe the government does - but normal people don't.

Well you should be.

Junichi is implying that he gets a lot of hassle in the United States, where is is curently residing. The people don't bug him in South Korea, but if the government found out, he would probably be thrown in Jail.

the government wouldnt do jack shit to some 14 year old kid who just found out about socialism a few months ago, and is fueling their capitalist system with his systematic purchases of "communist" goods. the government has bigger problems on its hands than a few "red guerrillas"

You're probably right. I'm just stating what Junichi has told me. From what I have heard; he would be punished in some way.

If he is even to be punished, he would be much more of a slap on the wrist, I strongly doubt that he would be thrown in jail.

it depends whether he actually was active or not probally, but even the slap on the wrist would be wrong, to persecute people over issues of conscience.
