I have a few questions about Sub-comandante Marcos. :ph34r: I've seen photos of him, and I know that hes a revolutionary, but i dont know much more about him.

1) Who is he?

2) What does he do?

3) How does he do it?

Dude, it's been like an hour, and yes, almost everybody has heard of him.

1) A member of the Zapatistas, a revolutionary group in southern Mexico.
2) Spokesperson for the Zapatistas.
3) By speaking. Getting publicity for the Zapatistas and suchlike.

I answered this in another thread. But, Subcomandate Marcos is the Millirary commander of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation. And spokesperson of the Zapatistas.

The Government claim he was a Proffesor of Philosphy and Linguistics, from Mexico city called Rafael Sebastián Guillén Vicente and that he was an active Maoist political figure before he "dissapeared" All this is covered in far more detail here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subcomandante_Marcos)

The closest he has come to admiting this was in a Documentry/Film; "A place called Chiapas" where he stated

"Imagine a person who comes from an urban culture. One of the world’s biggest cities, with a university education, accustomed to city life. It’s like landing on another planet. The language, the surroundings are new. You’re seen as an alien from outer space. Everything tells you: “Leave. This is a mistake. You don’t belong in this place.” And it’s said in a foreign tongue.
