Let's STOP Bush's war on Iraq!

George Bush, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld want to drag our nation
into a disastrous military venture against a country that has not
attacked us. They want to wage a war that could lead to the deaths of
tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis and many U.S. troops, a war that
would alienate people all over the world and make us more vulnerable to
attacks here at home, a war that would cost approximately $200 billion
at a time when our schools are crumbling and the economy is failing.

We can't let the warmongers send young Americans to fight - and die -
for the benefit of US oil companies. We have to come together the way
we did in the Civil Rights movement and the movement against the
Vietnam War to make our government listen.

HERE'S WHAT YOU CAN DO

Stand up for democracy on Election Day. On Election Day - Tuesday,
November 5 - get together a group of people with anti-war signs and
leaflets to hand out at voting stations in your city. Set up your own
ballot box and ask people to vote on whether they support a war. <I only received this today - CB>

Honor our veterans by working for peace. Communities around the
country will be organizing anti-war events the week of Veterans Day,
from Nov. 11-17. Organize a peace float in a Veterans Day Parade.
Protest at the headquarters of international oil companies, military
weapons manufacturers, the Republican Party, and other corporate forces
that are pushing us to war.

If the U.S. attacks, make your outrage known. IF the bombs start
falling, organize people in your community to set up a "peace
encampment" at the nearest Federal office building or another
appropriate site. If our government is killing people in a far off
country, there can be no business as usual here at home.

There are dozens of things people are doing to stop the war - from
women organizing Code Pink: Women's Pre-Emptive Strike for Peace to
workers calling for individuals to Work A Day for Peace on December 4.
