Alright guys,

''Strawman'' here, stumbled across here by accident, but thought I'd join.

I'm a scotsman, born and bred. Love going to see comedy and music gigs and generally drinking

Looking forward to getting stuck into some interesting debate and sharing thoughts and ideas with like minded individuals.

Cheers,

Strawman

(Just don't ask me if I'm from Fife)

Are you from Fife?

Anyways, welcome.

No, but people always think I am (Fife had the UK's first Communist Member of Parliament)

Cheers.

Any other fellow Jocks?

Hi,

I'm also from Scotland, from just south of you actually, Edinburgh. Are you politically active at all? Do you still stay in Fife?

I'm not from Fife.

Naw, I'm from up in Peterhead mate..

What part of Edinburgh you from? Got family there and take any chance I can to visit.

PS. Not heavily active. Used to help organising events like gigs in Aberdeen and that, but only in background roles. That and a Trade Union membership is about as far as I go.

True, although west of Edinburgh is far snobbier than the east.

The SNP are hardly a traditional left wing party. Their support has come from middle class rural areas historically.

have you ever noticed the way people from Edinburgh and Cork talk very similarly? I once knew a guy from Cork and when i first heard him I couldnt tell he was Irish at all.

Granted, but their actions are prob further to the left than Labour at the moment. Freeezing the right to buy, trying to bring in and impove industry in Scotland and binning the council tax to replace it (eventually) with a much fairer proportional income tax.
