The writers and publishers of every Bible, Koran, Torah etc. should be locked up then, as well. As well as every writer of every religious book ever published.

As well as nearly every serious piece of literature ever written.

The problem is that such stupid laws only exist in limited fashion in the UK and the U.S., whereas reaction against imperial ambitions in the middle east has led to exceptional nationalism in the form of both religious zealotry and national fetishism. One might just as much ***** about the victorian style censorship in the western world; the only difference is that the Christians / Moralists aren't being demonized like the Islamists are - therefore, the latter get animosity whereas the others are looked upon as a mild nuisance. We should remember that the western world with all its moralism, holy war and imparialism is to blame for this.

scientists have speculated that there may be a god gene so you're missing the point. Most everybody gets teary-eyed for their religious leader be it Jesus or Muhammed.

But, they're not in awe of the doubter, otherwise Thomas of the bible would have been made a saint. Oh, how I wish that there was a skepticism gene.

My theory is that people with the skepticism gene got burnt at the stake by the zealots.
