killed 69 people, many of whom were children, including one who was only six months old. Also killed were several women, some of them pregnant. Most of them died by machete hacks, and some were shot at close range in the head. This was the first massacre by Shining Path of the peasant community. Other incidents followed, such as the one in Hauyllo, Tambo District, La Mar Province, Ayacucho Department. In that community, Shining Path killed 47 peasants, including 14 children aged between four and fifteen. Additional massacres by Shining Path occurred, such as the one in Marcas on 29 August 1985.

Some posters on this board seem to be really into the Shining path..
I had a vague idea who they were and their actions.
But after reading this :o I was shocked...
why were/are they so brutal?
And who supports a group that's responsible for the killing of peasants, union leaders and children?

What's to say it is true? Or that they were not punished for these actions by the Shinning Path? Or that these were even members of the Communist Party of Peru.

After realising how many lies can be spread and accepted about communist movements I am not likely to believe that the bourgeois press and the comprador Peruvian bourgeiose state are telling the truth in this situation.
