Firstly I'd like to say that this even is being hosted by SWP and yes I hate them as much as everyone else but this conference looks pretty good.
So anyway here's the link: Marxism 2002 (http://www.swp.ie/html/Marxism%202002.htm)

I'd pick these ones:
Israel And The Roots Of Zionism
The Corporate Media: Is "Big Brother" All Powerful
Is Fascism On The Rise In Europe
From Punk To Rap: How The Industry Steals Our Sounds

If it were me:
Trotskyism After Trotsky
The Corporate Media: Is "Big Brother" All Powerful? (though the other one could be interesting, depending on who is speaking)
Marx's Theory Of Crisis (hell of an important topic)
American Workers: Prisoners Of The American Dream (I do, after all, live in the USA, plus it sounds like it might get into the reasons why the proletariat is non-revolutionary in Western nations)

I was hoping everyone would agree so I'm still not sure of what to go to. So far I'm going to Big Brother but I'll have to see if I get any more opinions on the rest.

Vox,
Just one thing about Marx's Theory of Crisis, would you reckon if would be heavy going because I don't want to go to anything too complicated as I don't think I'm mentally ready.

It might be heavy but, just bring a notebook and take notes..
I would attend:
Trotskyism after Trotsky
Big Brother and Media..
and From Punk to Rap....
They all look interesting- The Anarchist Alternative looks really good.
Have fun!

Don't worry I will. Well that's if my dad doesn't decide he wants to come along and listen to the stuff that brainwashes me. Idiot.
I plan to bring a notebook anyway to all the courses. Never know when you might need some of the facts.

Yaa, bring your Da! I didn't see the option between Fascism on the Rise in Europe and Marx's Theory of Crisis. I would attend Fascism on the Rise.

Umm, what do you guys have against the SWP. An active revoltionary group with over 10 thousand members, sounds terrible!

I'd probably go to
Friday
6:00-7:15 Trotskyism after Trotsky.
Saturday
3:45-5:00 Palestine, Arab workers and revolution (probably just because I know Davy Carlin somewhat)
Sunday
10:00-11:15 Marx's Theory of Crisis (though the Politics of Gerry Adams seems intriguing)
3:30-4:45 American workers: Prisoners of the American dream?

It might be a bit heavy, but that's the kind of thing I like. You might want to check out The Marxian Crises Theory (http://www.neravt.com/left/crisispe.htm) to see if it's something you're intered in.

vox,
I would like to go to it aswell, I'm just not sure if I'm mentally strong enough for it yet and know enough about it to understand it.
Paris,
Please do not joke about bringing my dad. It is not a pleasant thought. He already flipped when I got leaflets from the Anarchist Federation and he almost accused me of joining the IRA because the leaflets had been delivered from Northern Ireland. It really shows his understanding of nationalism and anarchism.
