That Laura Ingraham woman seems really irritating. She seemed petrified of allowing Sunsara Taylor to get her view across, probably because she knows she is right.

I met Sunsara at a WCW convention in New York and she is a very talented speaker with a lot of great ideas. The good news is that the people at Fox are showing lack of self control which will most likely be their downfall.

Why do they even go on these shows? I really found it disrespectful that she hinted that Sunsara cuts her self and that is why she is wearing the scarf over her wrist.

You're right Blackstone. It was very disrespectful.

i think it is very positive to go on these shows and reach millions of people.
Especially when the agitation is skillfully done, as here by Sunsara.

I think Sunsara is doing very well. And I like her sense of urgency, I think this is exactly what we lack here on this forum.
Comrades in North America, we really oughta go out there and support her right now.

Ingraham is 100% irritating. She runs a secondary talk-radio show which I occasionally listen to when nothing else is on. She does that to everyone who tries to get a word in edgewise, plus her voice is just plain obnoxious. She is just INSUFFERABLE.

Absolutely. My best friend (who also posts here) recruited me for WCW. There aren't all that many events around here right now, though.

well have you been talking to the WCW chapter there? Are you in school? You could do some bold actions at your campus. At my campus we've been having weekly speak outs and next week we are doing a demonstration of water boarding "that isn't torture" (according to Attorney General Mukasey).
You should take initiative and really get something going there!

I'll talk to my friend who signed me up. You're right-I need to get active in my WCW chapter.

The chapter here in Milwaukee fell apart. This is because of the fact that too much organizing for the chapter fell on one person's shoulders. That person fell apart in his own life due to stress. Now recovered, this person may look for help in other people more this next time around. Oh, by the way, I'm that person who learned the lesson.

Why not just openly campaign for the Democrats instead? It would probably be more effective than supporting them in this sort of back-handed way. Plus, you wouldn't have to fall back on the liberal guilt-tripping tactic, which is arguably even more unprincipled that lesser-evilism in general.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the movement, especially Sunsara, criticises the Democratic Party severely in public occasions.

I have a very logistical question about the water boarding performances that are being conducted. I know that there has been one demonstration of a water boarding in Washington. And, Com. Red Heretic is involved in the organizing of another in his school, I was just wondering what kind of safety and legal provisions have been made. I mean despite the fact that water boarding is torture, there is some evidence that it can even result in the death of the people upon whom it is being conducted (shock to system etc., but also if done by someone who is not trained to do it etc.) . So 1) do you guys keep an ambulance on hand, just in case?; 2) are waivers signed off so that those conducting the water boarding are not legally liable for something if it happens?; 3) is there any post event therapy and support for the person who has just been water boarded? i mean they have just been publicly tortured!

From what I've heard the people in DC who did one were trained inCPR (at least one of them).
They selected someone from the crowd. I think they signed a waiver. Waterboarding is used in Navy Seals boot camp, and some other hardcore military training programs--so the legal precedent is there.

I personally know Sunsara, and I don't know why she keeps going on Fox to be disrespected like that and why she doesn't yell back. I admire her for being able to keep her cool like that, but its not something I would do :D
The problem with the WCW is that they believe impeachment is gonna solve anything, they don't recognize the war as being a product of imperialism, just a product of Bush. I don't think the ruling class is gonna impeach itself. Plus its not just Bush who is guilty of war crimes, its every politician, I don't know why Bush and Cheney are the only ones singled out when it was both parties which allowed the war to go on and continue to fund it. Also I don't believe in blaming the masses for complicity. If the masses aren't rising up, that means that the left isn't doing a good enough job at inspiring the masses, not that the masses are lazy or something.

I don't think that is entirely true. The ultimate goal of WCW is to drive the Bush regime from office and to repudiate the politics of the Bush regime. However this is done, it will require a mass mobilization of people and will give the basis for polarizing politics in the United States.
I am pretty sure it has been made clear by WCW that if the Bush regime is impeached, it can be for nothing short of crimes against humanity (not "lying to the american public" or some bullshit like the democrats sometimes talk about).
That said, I don't think WCW supports impeachment as the only exclusive way to drive the Bush regime from office.

I used to think that too, but more and more its just impeachment. In fact, I can't find any other method of "driving out the bush regime" proposed on the WCW website. the ruling class isn't gonna impeach itself even with a mass movement, and to fight for impeachment is too harbor illusions in the fact that the system is genuinely good and purges itself of bad individuals like Bush. The truth is that imperialism is the real enemy and that's what the mass movement must be built around, not liberal impeachment.

Unless the motive of the WCW is to penetrate the ranks of the Democratic Party and transform it into a proletarian vanguard party, I fail to see how their campaign is beneficial to the democratic workers' movement. The impeachment of Bush would not in any way break off the rule of the monopolies. The problem is not Bush; the problem is the antiquated capitalist system that is undermined by the forces of history. In all fairness to Bush, he is not solely responsible for the war crimes committed against Afghanistan and Iraq. Those that have voted for war credits are equally guilty. Since the bourgeoisie is never going to surrender its dictatorship, the only way to overthrow it is through a general strike coupled with an armed uprising.
