Marx and Engels both published a substantial body of material, but often times people find it difficult to know specifically which works are most important for a solid understanding of Marxism. What I would like to accomplish here is a list of the most important works of Marx and Engels. Please suggest the publications you believe to be most crucial to a comprehension of the ideas of Marx.

Perhaps we could divide them into categories of history, economics, sociology, philosophy, or whatever?

I'd appreciate some feedback or help with this.

Don't a lot of people just use sites like marxism.org?

Yes of course, and that is where one would find the works in question. However, I'm looking for a list of essentials.
