I wasn't sure whether to put this here or in the Research forum; I figured since I'm not doing any specific research project and I'm just curious I'd put it here.

Does anyone know where I can find legitimate/authoritative resources on the Cuban legal system and Cuban law? Things like what kind of court system they have, the different sources of Cuban law and their respective importance (legislation, precedent etc.), and of course actual Cuban law, such as the Constitution or legislation. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Cuban constitution (in English): http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Constitution_of_Cuba

I can't find the penal code in English, but here is a Spanish copy: http://www.ruleoflawandcuba.fsu.edu/law-penal-code.cfm

The website isn't exactly unbiased but it's a carbon copy as far as I know, so it should do

As for how the courts work, well obviously there is a strong influence from Spanish law. Court proceedings in general work in a similair to continental European courts, the Cuban legal system having its routes in civil law.

Hope that helps.
