Resources for left wing math teachers/students (http://radicalmath.org/)

Ok, if you've taken any math or science for any length of time before, it will dawn on you that the people who come up with the scenarios in the word problems are either graduate students with an sophmoric sense of humor, or nursing home residents. Some clever youtubers even saw fit to make a movie about this: Real word problems from a physic book (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIIwwCi2zwk). Now, since math can be incredibly dull for some people, perhaps a good way of getting some comrades into math would be to give them problems reguarding the problems of capitalism. On this site you can find all sorts of resources to slip some radicalism into a normally non-political field. If any of you are getting into teaching I highly recomend you check this out.

Looks like I may need to use some of this when I teach next semester.

What the hell? This is math. Trying to "radicalize" math is almost as crazy as this:

Calculus is one of the subjects being taught for higher mathematics in high schools and colleges. The purpose of this paper is to show how to use calculus in our relationship with God. I will employ parallelism and contrast to teach the values with the hope that through teaching calculus the teacher can bring his/her students closer to God.
