Do you guys eve get the feeling like youre the only person in the world who has revolutionary ideas? I mean i know theres loads of people - and i dont really need statistics -but do you ever feel like the whole world is againt you at times?
Especially where i come from - theres not even one left wing person in my entire school. It all a pile of capitalist twats only looking out for themselves...
What the fuck do you do at times when you feel like that?

The whole world is never against you comrade.
The majority of the 11,000 plus members on here are leftists just like you to some degree so you are never alone.

There are some places where things are as you describe but you should feel satisfaction that you are one of very few who can see past the lies.
What the fuck do you do at times when you feel like that?
Well i know what you should'nt do and that is to do what that Finnish guy recently did in the school shooting incident
Anyway if you are not apart of any leftist organization then if there is one near you why not join it and then you will be able to get know people who think the same as you do on certain things?

Or rather than sign up to whichever "leftist organisation" is near you, why don't you take time to consider whether the nearest "leftist organisation" actually matches the values and strategy you believe in? If not, rather than signing up to and pushing something you don't believe in find someone else even if they're more of a distance away...

yea - the "nearest one" was a young (secterian) socialist group....?
it packed up due to not enough members.
After that i would have a very long way to travel.
Other than my dad - i havnt met another socialist face-to-face in my entire city.
Come to think of it i havnt met another Socialist face-to-face at all.
:(
thanks anyway lol

Hey man, cheer up comrade. If you cant find any other leftist besides you, then you can start trying to convince them to become leftist. I too had that same problem last year. so what i did was showing them how being a leftist is the way to go. i didnt just tell them to be one, but rather introducing them to writings from revolutionaries. Like Che, malcom x, castro, ect. Now they arent like me, but they now respet the cause. they dont call themselves leftist, but they at least know about it and also like it and think its a good thing.

You're not going to get anywhere by referring to others as twats. Remember, we are no better than anyone else. It is certainly not the fault of children who have been bred to accept our culture of capitalism and consumerism that they don't recognize the need for revolution. I've never referred to someone who disagreed with me in a negative way. From collective listening and compassionate conversations I've had great success. I can name off three or four people whom I've influenced enough that if they're not Leftists, they're certainly sympathetic towards the cause. This may not seem like a lot to someone interested in a populist front, but I'm only speaking of a few months. Prior to this summer I was very secluded about my political beliefs.

I feel like that every day. I live in the anti-commie U.S., and everyone here is so apologist for the government. Revleft makes me feel a lot better, although I'm still trying to find a party. Subscription to a leftist paper, such as the Worker's Vanguard, may improve your spirits.

if there isnt a party near you already, set one up. If you're afraid about talking to people about politics then a good way to get your propaganda up is flyposting. All you need is one other guy to act as a look-out. That way you can leave details of where to meet for other people who might be lurking politically but are too afraid to come out as are you.

Go out and talk to people at the bar, in the park, at restaurants, in the streets. There are millions of comrades in the world, you just need to meet them. If you want, you can PM me with your location, and I can help you get in contact with people... Well depending if I know anyone where your at.

Yeh, talk to people. I used to be a cappi only a little over a year ago. A left-wing cappi, but a cappi none the less. I was introduced to socialism by a friend of mine but as a "joke" i guess, to play on a teacher. But both of us did a little research and began to like it. I have a group of 5 friends and we are all socialist now. Trust me, you will find commrades if you introduce them to it. The best way is to wear a leftist t-shirt, great conversation starter.

It said in your profile that you come from Derry? Derry from waht I have read ceritanly isn't the worst place in the world to be a socialist. The Irish Republican Socialist Party certinaly has members in Derry, including at least one from this board, PRC-UTE, maybe you should pm him? Derry also has a history of struggle, i'm sure you know a lot about the events surrounding NICRA, and free derry itself. That's not to have a go at you, starting out on the left in the current climate it's often difficult to know what to do or where to go.

its the extreme opposite of the 6 counties that its bad to be a socialist. Especially along the strangford peninsula. Middle class unionist die-hards.

Comrade:
Remember this. We are movement that has captured the hearts and minds of people in basically every country in the world for the last 150 years.
We must be doing something right.

I remember showing my friend a thing on Che, who I had recently came across, and she did the same thing I did when I first read up on him
"Marxist?! That Commie bastard! I'm not reading anymore!" It took me a while to read it myself, but that began my conversion to socialism, it took awhile, and the same with my friend, but now her and a few others are at least, if just a bit, more left than before. I can still remember her saying "why was McCarthy bad? Communists are bad!" oh. the ***** she was... jk.
At any rate, I know exactly how you feel, because not only am I hated, but I've run across some smart righties and cappies, and they are a tough breed to fight, and it belittles me. They make me feel like an idiot, not to my face, necessarily, but just what they say in passing. And any mention of my leftist ideals are shot down, usually with smug remarks, and I just hope that what I am doing it right.
Finally, does anyone know how I can find local leftist organizations?
P.S. Saying "comrade," and meaning it or hearing it from others like you, there's nothing like it.
Thank you Comrades!

I feel like that when I'm in school... :(
Thankfully I'm finishing high school and have already 2 anarchist friends (one I met outside the school, another I convinced him into it.) and some sympathetic friends.
I hope to meet some more cool people after I graduate from high school. :)
There's also revleft to consider...
